Read Ian McEwan's Saturday over the holiday and loved it. He's become one of my favorite writers; he and Michael Chabon can vie for my literary affections. McEwan is really a wonderful writer, so meticulous, which sounds sort of negative but I don't mean it that way. His attention to detail is amazing and he's really great at striking an emotional chord throughout his novels that's incredibly powerful. I have to read his latest On Chesil Beach soon.
